Taylor Sheridan is expanding his empire with a new Paramount+ series titled Land Man. Several cast members for the upcoming drama have been announced, including a When Calls the Heart star. Keep reading for everything there is to know about the cast of Land Man.
Land Man is a new Paramount+ series from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. Based on the podcast Boomtown and set in West Texas, the series is described as “a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs.” Per the official synopsis, it will offer a “upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires that are fueling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”
Four actors were recently added to the cast as series regulars, including When Calls the Heart‘s Kayla Wallace. Wallace, who has starred as Fiona Miller on the beloved Hallmark series since Season 6, will play Rebecca Savage, described as “an extremely capable and intimidating liability attorney sent to West Texas to clean up a mess.”
The actress celebrated the news on Instagram, writing alongside a screenshot of the press release: “THRILLED. So grateful. Let’s GO!” Several of Wallace’s WCTH co-stars congratulated her in the comments section and offered her praised. The show’s star, Erin Krakow, wrote: “Finally we can scream it from the rooftops, superstar!!! .” Wallace’s co-star-turned-fiancé Kevin McGarry commented: “So proud of you darling! You’re a .”
Hearties can rest assured knowing they won’t lose Wallace to Land Man just yet, as she is set to return for WCTH‘s upcoming Season 11, which premieres on April 7, 2024.
Joining Wallace on the oil industry drama is Yellowstone star James Jordan, Nashville alum Mark Collie and actress Paulina Chávez. The series is led by Billy Bob Thornton and previously announced series regulars include Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph and Jacob Lofland.
Land Man is not the only new show that Sheridan has in the works. The filmmaker has slate of new Yellowstone spin-offs coming to Paramount+ in the next few years, including 6666, 1944 and the Matthew McConaughey-led series tentatively titled 2024. Sheridan’s empire also features several standalone shows, such as Special Ops: Lioness, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown and Lawmen: Bass Reeves. The flagship series that started it all is coming to a close in November 2024 with the final few episodes of Season 5.
