Regarding the source of the leaks, The Snitch, the leaker in question, has made accurate predictions in the past. Known for posting cryptic tweets regarding upcoming game announcements, he is most remembered for accurate leaks about the PlayStation State of Play 2022 Showcase and a rumored upcoming Hideo Kojima horror title, Overdose.
According to a recent Twitch live stream, The Snitch said, "I know that Sony is working on a project called God of War Ragnarök DLC."
While the Game Director of God of War Ragnarök, Eric Williams, has denied the DLC claims in a November 2022 Spoilercast with Kinda Funny Games, it's now been nearly nine months since that initial interview, so it's possible that things have changed since then. When asked about the potential for a DLC for God of War Ragnarök Williams said, "I don't know, man, that game is big, I think we put everything we had into it, so I wouldn't count on it."
However, the game director would go on to say in that same interview, "Hey, you guys can make it happen. You have the audience, the world." As the game was a smash commercial and critical success following the launch, it's possible that energy has been put into expanding the story in the title via a new DLC.
