However, upon its arrival on Netflix, the movie saw a significant jump in streaming minutes to reach 1.35 billion in its first full week.
Netflix Originals Shine
Netflix’s original movie ‘Leave the World Behind’ outshone all others, grabbing the top overall spot with 1.92 billion minutes of watch time in its debut week. Despite a slight decline, the original series ‘Squid Game: The Challenge’ held its ground as the top series with 1.03 billion minutes of viewing.
‘My Life With the Walter Boys,’ another original series, made a strong entrance with 673 million minutes of viewing in its premiere week on Netflix.
It’s noteworthy that these figures are only indicative of TV set viewing within the U.S., as Nielsen’s streaming ratings do not account for computer or mobile device viewing. The rise in the popularity of these shows and movies on Netflix underscores the platform’s ability to significantly boost viewership.
