Actress Amanda Seyfried had a chance to join some of Philadelphia’s finest to prepare for an upcoming TV series role.
The Mean Girls actress is set to star in a new series based on the book, Long Bright River, which was written by Temple University professor Liz Moore. The book and TV series adaptation tell the story of two estranged sisters living in Kensington, with completely opposite lives. Mickey, who Seyfried will be playing, works as a police officer and Kacey battles with an opioid addiction. When Kacey suddenly goes missing, Mickey, becomes obsessed with finding the abductor, and her sister, before it’s too late.
On Tuesday, January 23, Seyfried accompanied the Philadelphia Police Department’s 26th District officers, and author Liz Moore, on a ride-along in the city’s Kensington neighborhood to prepare for her new role.
The Philadelphia Police Department’s 26th District shared these photos on Social Media, thanking the officers for providing a ride-along tour.
“Long Bright River” was published in 2020 and has since been featured as a bestseller on Good Morning America’s book club, and was featured on former President Barack Obama’s favorite books of the year list.
