The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is the most highly anticipated spinoff within The Walking Dead universe.
This series is the sixth spinoff and sees the long-awaited return of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira in their roles as Rick and Michonne. The two have been parted for many years and fans will finally find out what has gone on since that time and witness their glorious reunion.
The official first-look trailer for The Ones Who Live was recently released and showcases an action-packed series with outstanding cinematography, which is rumored to have a budget of over $13 million per episode.
The trailer also features many faces, some familiar and some new. Along with Rick and Michonne, Jadis will return in this series, which sees Pollyanna McIntosh achieve a TWDU trifecta, appearing in three series within the universe. Bailey (Andrew Bachelor) and Aiden (Breeda Wool) also return.
Newcomers include Lesley-Ann Bradt as Pearl Thorne, Terry O'Quinn as Major General Beale of the CRM, Matthew Jeffers as Nat, who appears to be an ally of MIchonnes, and Donald Okafor as Craig Tate a soldier for the CRM.
It is great to see some new names involved while also seeing some outstanding Walking Dead veterans return for The Ones Who Live. Amber Templemore-Finlayson and Katie Ellwood, known as Bert & Bertie, are new to TWDU and direct the first two episodes.
Another newcomer is Nana Nkweti, who, with Channing Powell, Tales of the Walking Dead showrunner and writer for TWD, wrote episode 2. Episode 3 director Micheal Slovis directed episodes in seasons 6, 7, & 8 of TWD; this episode was written by newcomer Gabriel Llanas and Matt Negrete, showrunner of World Beyond and writer for TWD. And, unless you live under a rock, you are familiar with Gimple, Gurira, and Lincoln, who wrote the first episode.
